ERS – Academy of thoracic imaging
Imaging is a vital tool in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary diseases. Techniques such as X-ray, computed tomography (CT), MRI, and ultrasound are used routinely in clinical practice. Today, clinicians are often the first to encounter these images, making it essential to develop a solid foundation in image interpretation. This course is designed to equip clinicians with the skills to assess thoracic imaging and recognise key abnormalities in the lungs, mediastinum, and pleura.
Course format
- Onsite lectures
- Hands-on workshops
- Interactive discussions
Learning outcomes
Following this course, participants will:
- know the basic principles of the different radiological imaging techniques;

This course is targeted towards all clinicians, including but not limited to:
- Pulmonologists
- Surgeons
- Radiologists
- Radiotherapists
- Residents
- Respiratory physiologists
